Say It Ain't So Bruins....

We all watched in horror last night as the Bruins shot at the cup slipped away.  In case you have been living under a rock (or you aren't a sports fan) here is a quick run down of what everyone is talking about today.  Last night the Bruins took on the Chicago Blackhawks in a do or die game six on home ice at the TD Garden.  The Bruins led for most of the game; at the start of the third they were up 2-1.  Then with a little over one minute left the Blackhawks tied the game! 17 seconds later they scored again, defeating the Bruins and winning The Stanley Cup.

It all happened so fast! The hope of being Stanley Cup champs for the second time in three years was dashed in a matter of seconds.  If you watched the game it was like you couldn't believe what you were seeing.  This could not be happening!....But it was!

That being said the team still deserves praise.  They may have lost but they defiantly put in a great effort!  In game three of the Eastern Conference finals Gregory Campbell broke his leg and stayed on the ice for almost a minute afterwards! Patrice Bergeron, who left game five in an ambulance, finally revealed the extent of his injuries. "So I had a broken rib, a torn cartilage and muscles, and I had a separated shoulder,’’ said Bergeron, very much like "hey not big deal." All I can think is, imagine if that was a baseball player! A baseball player never would have played and it would have been months before we saw him again!  Maybe the Bruins can head on over to Fenway and share some of that grit and determination with the Red Sox.  Don't get me wrong I love the Sox but seriously think about it....broken legs and broken ribs, yeah a baseball would not have played through.

They may have lost but they gave us their all! We all got to enjoy a great season complete with a run at the cup! There is always next year! Congratulations on a great season Boston Bruins!
